About this Role

Part-Time SENCo

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic SENCo, with a commitment to inclusive education, to work in a supportive environment that sets high expectations enabling pupils and students to achieve their goal of progressing to university or an apprenticeship.

The school is an excellent provision with a stable staff of subject specialists. Pupils and students study predominantly STEM subjects, (science, computer science, maths, engineering) as well as English and Media. The school has good levels of attendance, with a focused and aspirational student body.

“Pupils demonstrate exceptionally positive attitudes to learning. They work hard and are keen to succeed. They make a positive contribution to the school community” Ofsted, January 2025.

“The school is a calm and purposeful environment where all pupils feel safe. They use study spaces effectively to consolidate their learning.” Ofsted, January 2025.

The role of SENCo (Special Education Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) is a key strategic post. In this role you will help shape the school’s provision for SEND students, ensuring that every learner receives the support, challenge and provision they need to achieve their full potential.

Working closely with the senior leadership team and collaboratively with the newly appointed EAL teacher and coordinator (September 2026), you will play a key role in the development of inclusive teaching practices, effective intervention strategies and a strong culture of high expectations for all learners. You will effectively use data, assessment and other evidence to remove barriers to learning and secure positive outcomes for SEND students.
