This is an exciting opportunity to join the Geography department at Kingsway Park High School and inspire students through a rich, engaging and ambitious curriculum that develops curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
The
successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the continued
development of Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality
teaching that enables students to achieve strong outcomes whilst developing
confidence, independence and a passion for learning.
Our
Geography department is a collaborative and supportive team that is committed
to high standards, curriculum innovation and continuous improvement. Students
study Geography as part of the Humanities curriculum at Key Stage 3 and have
the opportunity to continue the subject at GCSE through a knowledge-rich
curriculum that promotes geographical enquiry and analytical thinking.
This role
would suit either an early career teacher or an experienced practitioner who is
passionate about Geography, values inclusive education and is committed to
making a positive difference to the lives and futures of young people.
Key
Responsibilities
• Deliver
high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Support the
continued development of the Geography curriculum and wider Humanities faculty
• Use a range
of teaching strategies to engage, challenge and support all learners
• Plan and
deliver ambitious lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking and
independent learning
• Monitor
student progress and use assessment effectively to inform teaching and
intervention
• Contribute
positively to collaborative planning and curriculum development within the
department
• Promote
high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement
• Work
collaboratively with colleagues, families and wider support services to ensure
the best outcomes for students
• Contribute
to enrichment opportunities and wider school life

Teacher Status or working towards QTS
• A strong
subject knowledge in Geography or a related discipline
