About Altus Education Partnership
Welcome to the Altus Education Partnership. Our central purpose is to help all our students across all our schools and colleges to realise their academic potential. We believe every young person can succeed and we devote ourselves to improving student achievement through high-quality teaching and student support.
Through a culture of mutual respect, positive behavior and high standards, we aim to inspire and engage all pupils and students, regardless of prior attainment or social background. Through a thriving family of Altus schools and colleges, we are committed to not only building student aspirations and futures, but also to regenerating communities.
Altus Education Partnership is a Multi-Academy Trust and was established in April 2017 by the governing body of Rochdale Sixth Form College, an outstanding A level provider established in 2010. The college was awarded outstanding status by Ofsted in 2013, and again in 2022, and has developed a national reputation for excellence, having been used in Ofsted case studies for sharing best practice. We're proud to have Rochdale Sixth Form college as the founding member of our Multi-Academy Trust.
The development of the Trust stemmed from a commitment to raising aspirations and improving the life chances of young people throughout the borough of Rochdale. In 2019 the Trust was successful in its application to open a new free school - Edgar Wood Academy - which serves the local community in Middleton and Heywood.
In 2022, Kingsway Park High School, who are rated by Ofsted as a 'Good' school, joined the Trust. Kingsway Park offers outstanding facilities for learning and is an organisation that brings significant benefit to the wider community.
2023 brought the first primary school, Bamford Academy, to the Trust. Bamford Academy were rated as a 'Good' school in 2023 by Ofsted and it was noted that the students flourish by being part of a positive, happy, caring and safe community.
Our most recent member is Caldershaw Primary School, who officially joined the Trust family of academies on 1st July 2025. Caldershaw is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' rated school and we're looking forward to working in collaboration with them alongside our other academies to improve the life chances of young people across the borough of Rochdale.
We are committed to supporting all children in their academies to lead happy and fulfilling lives and make positive differences to their communities and society.
