SPECIAL NEEDS SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Scale 2 (Point
4), £16,971.18 (Actual Salary) Term time only, 30 hours per week
This will include
some lunchtime working.
The post will be subject to the child’s funding being maintained and the child
remaining at our school.
The Academy Council of
St Mary’s Catholic Primary Academy wish to appoint a caring, reliable, calm, positive
and skilled person to provide support for pupils with additional needs. In this role, you will use a creative and
impactful approach, follow the specific direction of the class teacher and work
effectively with the SENDCo to improve access to learning for pupils, whilst
enhancing their educational progress, personal experience and character
development.
St

The post will be

We need you to be able to
- support the children on an academic level.
Ø - help them to move around the school safely and to
maintain an appropriate focus on their learning tasks in and out of the
classroom.
Ø - work closely with the teacher and other support staff
to give this child and all their peers the best quality provision we can.
Ø - liaise and communicate with the parent of this child
on a regular basis to ensure their care is consistent and appropriate.
Ø - meet the personal and physical needs of pupils such
as feeding, toileting and assisting with mobility whilst encouraging their
independence.
The successful
candidates will be required to support the Catholic ethos and to make a
contribution to the extended life of the school where possible. Any additional
skills that can be offered should be mentioned in the application process.
