Contract type: 38 weeks per year. Permanent contract

Hours: 12 hours per week, Thursdays and Fridays 08:30 - 15:30


Post 2:

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: £13,794 per annum

Location: Rushmere Hall Primary School

Contract type: 38 weeks per year. Fixed term contract covering maternity leave

Hours: 24 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 15:30 (could be flexible on days worked)

We are looking to recruit a Hearing Specialist Base Teaching Assistant to work in partnership with the Teacher of the Deaf and classroom teachers to ensure deaf pupils can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. This includes adapting learning materials where needed, managing hearing technology, supporting communication and language development in spoken English and British Sign Language (BSL) or Signed Supported English (SSE) according to each child’s preferred mode of communication, and delivering timely interventions to address gaps in learning.  The role also focuses on fostering pupils’ independence, promoting achievement, and creating an inclusive environment that enables every child to thrive academically and socially.


A British Sign Language Level 1 qualification is essential, level 2 is desirable and you should be well qualified and possess the confidence and skills in the person specification.
