About this Role

Our aim at Heyford Park School is to provide the best possible education for all our students

At Heyford Park School, our mission is to provide the best possible education for all students in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are proud to be a warm, welcoming all-through school with a strong sense of community. Our staff body is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely enjoy working together.

We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teacher of English to join our fantastic department in September 2025. The maternity cover will last until the end of the academic year. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, and can be flexible as to whether the successful candidate works with us full-time or part-time. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher looking to start your journey with the support of our excellent ECT programme in partnership with Bartholomew School, or an experienced teacher seeking new challenges, we offer excellent professional development and career growth opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school recently rated Good by Ofsted, and to join us at a dynamic point in our journey. As part of the Eynsham Partnership Academy Trust (EPA), our secondary phase is closely supported by Bartholomew School, an Outstanding school as of 2024.

English is a thriving subject at Heyford Park, with strong results and high student engagement across all Key Stages. Results at 4+ improved from 67% to 78% last year. Our English team is small but strong, with a deep sense of collaboration that extends across the whole school.

Located in the village of Upper Heyford, Heyford Park is easily accessible from Bicester, Banbury, and Oxford, serving the surrounding rural communities.

For more information or to discuss the role, please contact Andrew Binnington, Head of School, at 01869 232203 or email axbinnington@heyford.epatrust.org copying in recruitment@heyford.epatrust.org

Please note that we advise applying promptly as we reserve the right to close and interview if sufficient suitable applications have been received.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undertake and receive a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service check as well as attending safeguarding training as part of this role.
