  • Challenging behaviours and sensory processing/integration needs

As Class Tutor, you will lead the teaching and learning for a group of pupils with complex needs, using a range of specialist strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, Sensory Integration, Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction. You’ll create a fun, stimulating and engaging learning environment through imaginative activities, while promoting independence and life skills for individuals and groups—including within our 14–19 provision, both on and off-site.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a minimum Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Is an exceptional teacher with strong subject/curriculum knowledge
  • Is fun, creative and enthusiastic, with the ability to think outside the box
  • Has experience working with children and/or young people with complex needs
  • Can support pupils with MSI and disabilities who may display behaviours of concern
  • Has a solid understanding of child development
  • Can deliver specialist strategies (TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism, multi-sensory curriculum, Sensory Integration, Intensive Interaction, MSI environments)
  • Is proactive and collaborative, working with stakeholders to design and deliver individualised programmes
  • Brings energy, resilience and adaptability to meet pupils’ needs

We are committed to your professional development, offering a comprehensive induction and a wide range of CPD opportunities. We welcome applications from teachers seeking a supportive, nurturing environment to complete their NQT process.
