The Role

You will contribute to raising standards of student attainment in Art, Design and Technology, a flagship curriculum area, and one which is increasingly well-connected within the City's burgeoning professional creative sector. You will share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth and facilitate a learning experience that allows individuals to fulfil their potential.  The Creative Industries Faculty at Millbay Academy has secure curriculum foundations, and this is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to play a pivotal role in taking the department forward.

This role involves understanding the needs of the students and adopting/developing an appropriate curriculum/intervention in your area. You will need to be able to establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment for students, rooted in mutual respect and establish a framework for discipline with a range of strategies, using praise, sanctions and rewards consistently and fairly.

Millbay Academy is a thriving secondary school in Plymouth’s Coastal Quarter, where every individual is valued, and every moment counts. Our journey of school improvement has been transformational, culminating in our recent Ofsted GOOD rating across all areas in 2024.
