About this Role

At Aspire school we believe that learning needs to be individual for all and aspirational for everyone. As a specialist provision for children with ASD and speech, language and communication needs we believe that communication is at the heart of the curriculum for all of our pupils. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Qualified Speech and Language Therapist, who is looking to gain experience working with children with a range of communication strengths and challenges, and wishes to be a driving force behind helping our pupils to be the best communicators they can be.

We are offering a rare opportunity to join our new, purpose-built environment, designed for our unique children.  You will have the opportunity to join our established team, and use your knowledge and ideas to help shape the support we offer to all of the School community.  There will also be the opportunity of working with and providing support to pupils and staff in mainstream schools within the Trust.

If you are experienced, enthusiastic and forward-thinking and have the passion to bring out and nurture the individual talents in our pupils, aged 4 -11 with ASD and speech and language needs, please apply.

You will be our desirable candidate if you:

  • are a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, with a passion for supporting children with additional needs, and their families;
  • have experience of delivering assessments and interventions in a range of approaches relating to ASD and speech and language needs;
  • have experience of working in mainstream and/or specialist schools;
  • thrive working in a friendly team with like-minded people;
  • have a positive sense of humour and attitude;
  • are a clear communicator with adults and children;
  • are a positive role model to all.

This is a permanent term time only (38 weeks per year plus 5 training days), full or part-time Monday to Friday role.
