About this Role
Sandymoor Ormiston Academy are seeking an enthusiastic and
committed Teacher of RE to join our dedicated Social Sciences team from
September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or
ECT looking to embark on their teaching journey and who wish to inspire
students and make a meaningful contribution to the team.
The successful candidate will teach RE across Key Stages 3,
and 4, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster curiosity and
critical thinking. You will be passionate about your subject, have high
expectations and be committed to raising achievement.

Join us as an ECT
Our Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme provides new
teachers with the training, mentoring and support they need to thrive. At
Sandymoor, you’ll have a dedicated Induction Tutor, and the programme is
delivered through OAT in partnership with Ambition Institute via the Steplab
platform.
You’ll be paired with a mentor who will guide you through
your first two years. In Year 1, you’ll receive weekly instructional coaching,
complete online study modules and attend webinars and two full‑day conferences.
This training makes up around 10% of your timetable. In Year 2, you’ll have a
new mentor, fortnightly coaching, continued study and webinars, plus one full‑day
conference. Training commitments reduce to around 5% of your timetable.
