We are looking to recruit a resilient
Teaching Assistant. This role is instrumental in the day-to-day support of
student learning in our classrooms. You will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis or in a group with specific students, often the most vulnerable, assisting them with their
class work in a range of subjects from key stage 3 to GCSE

Whilst experience is not necessary, you must have a good standard of literacy,
be adaptable, resilient and willing to be involved in all aspects of school life, have a
calm manner and be able to work as part of a team.

In return, you will be joining our team of tenacious, optimistic and talented support staff, who have the support of an experienced leadership team Hamilton School is an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Special School in Reading educating up to 64 students with Education, Health Care Plans (EHCP). Our mission is to recognise each and every one of our students as individuals, and to nurture their potential, developing the whole child through a therapeutic approach. This means that you would have to be a resilient character who is able to remain positive when dealing with challenging behaviour. The school is proud to have recently been graded 'GOOD' following a successful inspection in May 2024 and opened its doors to a state-of-the-art building with wonderful new facilities for both pupils and staff in Feb 2022.
