Contract Type: 1 Permanent Role and 1 Maternity
Cover (32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 1 Week)
Salary: Grade 4 (Point 6-7)

About the Role
Meadowside Primary School is seeking two enthusiastic and
dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our team. One role is permanent,
and the other is a maternity cover. Both positions are based within our Key
Stage 1 Designated Provision, where you will play a vital role in supporting
children with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a
caring and inclusive environment, starting in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with and supervise individuals and groups of children
under the direction of teaching or senior staff
- Support the implementation of the Early Years Framework and
National Curriculum
- Enable access to learning for all pupils, including those
with specific individual learning needs.
- Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning
and extracurricular activities.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a
safe and positive learning environment.
- Assist in classroom management, resource organisation, and
lesson preparation.
- Observe and report on pupil performance to the class
teacher.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external
professionals to support pupil development.
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, adhering to
safeguarding policies.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
in supporting children.
- Have a general understanding of the Early Years Foundation
Stage and Primary National Curriculum.
- Have experience working with children with additional needs,
such as ASD, ADHD, or PAD.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Are committed to their own professional development.
- Possess good personal numeracy and literacy skills.
- Can adapt their approach to meet the specific needs of
individual pupils.
