We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for specific pupils with special educational needs who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

  • The successful candidate will work 27.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:15pm with 60-minute unpaid break).
  • This is a 38-week-per-year role, which is term time only.

A Day in the Life:

Some key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Providing support for a named pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan. The LSA will ensure that this pupil is fully integrated into all aspects of school life and is making strong progress. 
  • Responsibility for implementing the targets on the Pupil’s One Plan and EHCP outcomes in liaison with the SENCO.
  • Understanding specific learning needs and styles and providing differentiated support to pupils individually and within a group.
  • Implementing planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
  • Attending to pupils’ personal needs including help with social, welfare and health matters, including minor first aid.

What We're Looking For:
You are the perfect fit for our team if you have:

  • Experience working with a range of children.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grace C or above (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to undertake interventions to support children e.g., learning, social skills. 
  • The ability to implement and adapt learning activities.
