About this Role

 After School Club Assistant 

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a part-time After School Club Assistant, based at Ludwell Primary School on a fixed term contract.

Hours: 13.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3.00pm until 5.45pm, working 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding TD days)

Salary range D4 £24,404 pro rata, per annum (actual salary £7601 per annum).  

Start date: 3rd February 2025 or as soon as possible

End date: 23rd July 2025


Ludwell Primary School is located near Shaftsbury in South Wiltshire and provides education to approximately 100 children.  The school prides itself on being a friendly, vibrant school with an energetic and creative staff team.  The school is committed to providing the best primary education for all its pupils and is proud of the vibrant and exciting school environment it creates.  Pupil’s achievements are recognised and celebrated, with the aim to develop a love of learning and build self-esteem, confidence and independence.  The school has fantastic outdoor facilities, which are used well to provide outdoor learning experiences.  There are high expectations of all children in their learning, and the school promotes and achieves high standards of behaviour.

 We would like to recruit an After School Club Play Assistant to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children who access after school provision. To plan and organise a range of stimulating activities suitable for Primary age children, taking into account the children’s interests.

Duties will include:

·        To ensure that the health and safety needs of each individual child are met at all times by ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner and injuries and emergencies are dealt with following the proper procedures

·        To ensure that food provision is balanced and healthy and in line with the Food Safety Act 1990 and ensure good hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

·        To engage children in purposeful play and activities.

·        To support with home learning and other relevant activities when appropriate.

·        To support in all aspects of the running of the provision.
