The governors and the leadership team
are looking to appoint a teacher-in-charge for our new SEND Hub.
The successful candidate will:

Have an in-depth knowledge and
understanding of SEND, and a thorough knowledge of appropriate teaching and
learning strategies for these pupils.
· Be confident deploying staff.
·
Be adaptable and able to work
under pressure.
·
Be open to support and advice
from the local authority, families and other professionals working with these
children.
·
Have high expectations of what
all pupils can achieve, no matter their starting point.
·
Be approachable, kind,
compassionate and act in accordance with the Catholic ethos and values of the
school (we welcome applications from both Catholic and non-Catholic candidates).
Job description and main
responsibilities:
·
Overseeing the day-to-day
operation of the school’s SEN policy with a focus on the Specialism of the SEND
Hub.
·
Co-ordinating provision for
children/ young people in the SEND Hub.
·
Liaising with the relevant
Designated Teacher where a Looked After/Child in Care pupil attends the SEND
Hub.
·
Advising on the graduated
approach to providing specialist support for children/ young people attending
the SEND Hub.
·
Liaising with parent/carers of
SEND Hub children/ young people.
·
Liaising, alongside the SENDCO with
other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals,
and independent or voluntary bodies regarding children/young people attending
the SEND Hub.
·
Being a key point of contact
alongside the SEND Hub Manager for external agencies, especially Norfolk County
Council and its specialist support services regarding children/ young people
attending the SEND Hub.
·
Liaising with potential future
providers of education to ensure a child’s/ young person and their parents are
informed about options and a smooth transition is planned.
· Undertake any reasonable duties outlined by the Headteacher in line with the role of a teacher, such as PPA cover.

As this is a new venture, the role will be on a 1 year fixed contract initially with the view to making it a more permanent role.
