About this Role

Exeter Foundation Stage One – Part of Exeter – a Learning Community

At Exeter Foundation Stage One, we are proud to be part of Exeter – a Learning Community and Inspiring Futures through Learning Trust, offering early education and care for children aged 2 years until school age. We are Ofsted registered and inspected in line with the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements.

We are seeking a Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team and help us continue to provide outstanding early years education in a setting that is deeply rooted in the local community.

Why Exeter Foundation Stage One is Special :

Community connection: Our staff belong to the local community, bringing continuity and long-term commitment.

Cultural richness: We welcome and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of our families.

Energy and fun: Our team thrives on enthusiasm, creativity, and joy in learning.

Large, exciting learning environment: Carefully organised into areas of continuous provision, both indoors and outdoors.

Broad and balanced curriculum: Rooted in observations of children’s play and interests, recognising that learning is not always linear.

The Role

As a Senior Early Years Practitioner, you will:

  • Lead and inspire colleagues in delivering high-quality early years education.
  • Support the planning and implementation of a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum.
  • Champion child-initiated learning and foster independence and curiosity.
  • Work closely with families and the wider community to strengthen our long-standing connections.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted and EYFS Welfare Requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified practitioner with Level 3 or above in Early Years Education.
  • Experience in leading practice and supporting staff development.
  • A passion for child-led, play-based learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, enthusiastic team environment.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership.
  • A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young children and their families.
  • The joy of working in a setting full of energy, creativity, and fun.
