About this Role

(Secondment opportunity with a TLR 3 available for the right applicant)

At Shotley Primary we are looking to employ an Upper Key Stage 2 teacher for next academic year to join the existing Key Stage 2 team in this small coastal school with community at its heart. The post is initially on a fixed term 1 year contract (this can be offered as a secondment opportunity if appropriate).

We are seeking an experienced and confident teacher who can inspire a class with diverse needs who has high standards and a toolkit of strategies at hand to help develop each child as an individual, recognising and meeting their needs so they have the opportunity to thrive and meet their goals and raise their self esteem.

We are looking for a teacher who truly believes that they can help remove the barriers to success for our children and have a relentless drive to support all learners.

Research underpins much of our work and we work collaboratively at school and Trust level to ensure all of our pupils have access to the best opportunities and teaching we can give.

We would like to encourage applicants to apply who:

  • have a proven record of excellence within the classroom

  • are capable of modelling strong practice in the teaching, including deep knowledge of curriculum

  • are committed to promoting and securing good progress and achievement for all

  • have a good knowledge of current research and strategies for improving health and wellbeing

  • have good interpersonal skills and the ability to support and develop skills in others

  • have the ability to engage and communicate effectively with all stakeholders

  • ability to develop academic and social skills in all learners

We can offer you:

  • the chance to be part of an inclusive school that balances wellbeing and learning for all

  • Passionate and spirited children.

  • Weekly support and coaching from members of the school leadership team.

  • Teaching and Learning and behaviour support from across the Trust.

  • a creative and reflective staff team

  • a network of support across fourteen ASSET schools and others in the area, including face to face collaboration

  • on-going professional development to further enhance your career

Due to the nature of this post we do not think it is suitable for ECT’s unless you have experience of teaching whole classes prior to qualifying.

This post will be reporting directly to Rebecca Newton and will be based at Shotley Primary School.

For further details, or to arrange an initial discussion or visit with the Headteacher, please contact the school directly

ASSET Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the job description and will be subject to pre-employment checks including  an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and children's barred list check, health check, online search and  satisfactory references.
