About this Role

St Mary's have an opportunity to join our supportive team as a Teaching Assistant, playing a vital role in supporting our students on their journey to success. 

If you are an enthusiastic and supportive Teaching Assistant who is committed to getting the best outcomes for pupils then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their approach to meet the needs of all pupils.

This Teaching Assistant role is for 20 hours per week and can be combined with our current Midday Supervisor vacancy of 4 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement

  • A proactive, adaptable approach to supporting both staff and students.
