Saracens High School is growing into its seventh year, and in our last year of expansion we are looking for a dynamic and inspirational teacher of science, to deliver an outstanding curriculum in our new state of the art building which includes eight science labs. The successful candidate will contribute to the science curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4 and an ability to contribute to an A Level in future years would be an advantage.
Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. With generous teacher loadings, an on-site gym that is free for staff, the opportunity for colleagues to take family days, and access to a staff counsellor, we do all we can to look after our staff.
With strong ties to the wider Saracens organisation, we base all we do on the values Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility, and our approach focuses on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. The successful candidate will be excited to join the team in developing aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community. (Hear Paul Dix speak about Saracens High School here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Utm3ocGeII). Our first cohort of pupils who sat GCSEs last summer achieved excellent outcomes, including a contextual value-added score placing us in the top 2% in the country, with no pupil premium gap (60% of pupils were pupil premium).
You will be helping to create a distinctive culture and philosophy, so from the moment someone enters the school, they know this is where the learner is empowered to 'be the best that they can possibly be'. The individual abilities of each pupil are recognised and where coaching for life skills, as well as academic excellence, is at the core of all we do.
Saracens High School is a secondary school that opened in September 2018 for Year 7 pupils, growing each year until the school is full in 2024 (1130 pupils). We serve a wonderfully diverse community in the Colindale area of North London, which also has exceptional transport links with the Northern Line (Colindale) and mainline trains (Mill Hill Broadway), and easy access to main commute routes (M1, A1, A41).
