This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead the IT team in an Academy that is fully committed to the provision of quality IT resources for students and staff, and always willing to embrace new technologies and software to enhance the learning experience for all of our school community. Katherine Warington School opened in September 2019 and has fully embraced technology with a 1:1 Student Chromebook Scheme and extensive deployment of Apple and Windows hardware for staff. We have also embraced cloud technology and use Google Workspace for Education daily throughout the school. We are therefore looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about IT, with the drive to constantly want to look at better ways of improving our use of technology. The Katherine Warington School provides a modern, dynamic and challenging work environment with a wide range of opportunities to gain experience in maintaining and developing IT network systems.
You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the school’s IT networks. The successful candidate will have proven network management and IT problem solving experience for hardware and software problems in a busy environment. This role requires a good understanding of current Windows operating systems for PC’s and Servers (Windows 11 and Server 2022 currently). You will ideally have a working knowledge of Arbor MIS and have previous experience in maintaining asset management registers. You will have proven line management experience. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage IT-related contracts, IT procurement, and to ensure that IT budgets are carefully managed. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to plan for the short & long term IT needs of the school. This is a varied and vital role that requires great flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to use initiative as well as a “can do” attitude in a pressurised environment.
