About Katherine Warington School
Established in 2019, Katherine Warington School (KWS) is a modern, co-educational secondary school built on a foundation of academic excellence and community partnership. Founded in collaboration with the Harpenden Secondary School Trust, the University of Hertfordshire, and Rothamsted Research, we work in partnership with the other three outstanding Harpenden secondary schools - Roundwood Park, St George’s and Sir John Lawes. We now operate at our full capacity of 1,150 students in a stunning, purpose-built campus, including a sixth form catering for 250 students. We combine traditional values with innovative teaching methods backed by robust academic research. We believe that every young person deserves a transformational education. Our culture is one where "nothing is impossible" if it improves a child's life chances. We don't just teach; we nurture the next generation of leaders and thinkers.
Our PAN (Pupil Admission Number) is 180 students for admission into year 7, although we have on occasion taken more students at the request of HCC where demand in the area is high.
