About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, and experienced MFL teacher, with the management skills to lead and develop the department, who is keen to take the next steps in their career and make a real difference as a Director of MFL (with extended leadership responsibilities, as appropriate across the wider Academy).

A recruitment & retention allowance may be available for a strong candidate.

The successful applicant will be well supported both in the department and by the senior leadership of the school.

Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College is part of The Consortium Academy Trust. We are ambitious about the future – creating learning environments and excellence in teaching and learning that provide our children and young people with the best chance at a successful future. Coupled with this is the commitment, care, and investment in our people, who we believe are our greatest asset. If you are a team player who is looking for a varied and interesting new career opportunity within teaching, then we want to hear from you!

 About You

You will consistently deliver high-quality learning opportunities to young people, ensuring aspirational standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement are evident at all times, while contributing to the calm environment of the Academy.

As the Head of the Department, you will have strong people skills to provide strategic direction and develop MFL within the academy.

You should be able to teach Spanish and French to GCSE and have the ability to inspire, lead and motivate staff to continue the department’s development journey.

The appointed person will promote excellent student conduct, be committed to safeguarding and student welfare, and should also be keen to engage in the wider life of our community school.

All teachers must ensure they work within the policies and procedures as laid out by the Trust and provide a good role model for young people, both in and out of the school environment. Teaching staff are expected to meet the national core standards for professionals at all times.
