About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a Positive Discipline Manager (37 hrs per week, term time only plus 5 additional days) to join our support team at Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College.  Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College is part of The Consortium Academy Trust. We are ambitious about the future – creating learning environments and excellence in teaching and learning that provide our children and young people with the best chance at a successful future. Coupled with this is the commitment, care and investment in our people, who we believe are our greatest asset. If you are a team player who is looking for a varied and interesting new career opportunity within learning support, then we want to hear from you!

The Positive Discipline Manager is responsible for the management of a safe and productive environment to manage student behaviour, often in challenging circumstances, and will support students to reflect on their behaviours and make more positive choices in future. The role has responsibility for overseeing and managing the systems in place to support Positive Discipline (PD) across the entire school (both sanctions and rewards) to ensure that strategic decisions are well informed, and evidence based, while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.

About You

You will have experience of working with young people and the ability to establish good professional relationships with students and colleagues. You will also have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection and a clear understanding of the factors which can lead to education disaffection.

Candidates should be educated to GCSE A-C (or equivalent) in both English and Maths, be organised, reliable and resilient, and be committed to their own learning.

What WE can Offer YOU

In return for your skills and experience, we provide a supportive and friendly environment to develop and thrive. We offer all staff access to an excellent pension (TPS/LGPS); a generous annual leave entitlement with additional shutdown days over the Christmas period; staff development opportunities; free onsite car parking; and a supportive induction programme.

For an informal discussion about this post, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Briggs, Assistant Headteacher, via telephone on 01482 899315.
