About this Role

Teacher (Main Scale)– Music

Hours: 1 day per week

Grade Main Pay Scale 1-6.

FTE Salary - £32,196 to £45312

Fixed-term position until 17/07/2026.

‘Nurturing the infinite worth of every person through love, respect, perseverance, honesty and forgiveness.’

At Isham CE Primary, we believe every child has their own God-given potential waiting to be discovered. As a small, vibrant, and caring school, our Christian ethos underpins everything we do — inspiring us to value each child’s unique talents and to help them flourish both academically and creatively.

We now have a wonderful opportunity for a passionate and committed Music Teacher to join our dedicated team.

Music is at the heart of our school life — it brings our community together, enriches our curriculum, and gives our pupils the chance to shine.

In this role, you will:

  • Inspire young minds through engaging, creative music lessons across the whole school.
  • Lead extra-curricular opportunities, such as choirs, ensembles and school performances.
  • Foster a lifelong love of music and performance in pupils of all ages.
  • Play a key role in shaping and delivering a comprehensive, ambitious music curriculum.

This is a unique and rewarding role — not only for the right candidate, but for our children too. We are looking for someone who shares our belief that music can transform lives, unlock potential, and help every child find their voice.

Our recent Ofsted inspection (January 2025) celebrated how “the curriculum provides many opportunities for pupils to experience the world beyond Isham.” We want our music provision to continue leading the way in offering those opportunities — building confidence, connection, and joy.

If you are enthusiastic, creative, and driven to inspire the next generation of musicians, we would love to hear from you. Join us as we continue to nurture the talents of every child and make music an integral part of our school’s story.

We are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, friendly and positive about their role in education and contribution to our whole school community.
  • Is committed to supporting, motivating, and challenging the learning of children of all abilities within the classroom.
  • Can work creatively to establish an appropriate learning environment, meeting the needs of the pupils and curriculum across the school
  • Has the ability to work effectively, flexibly, and independently
  • Shows initiative and creativity in different learning situations
  • Is passionate about children’s learning and well-being
  • Is keen to support the ethos of a Church school.
  • Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare- both at home and in school.

In return, we can offer you:

  • A tight-knit, welcoming and caring school, that encourages everyone to give their best at all times
  • A collaborative and supportive school community that is underpinned by the Christian ethos, driven by a shared passion of children’s welfare and education.
  • A rewarding and exciting working environment, that inspires and challenges within a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Access to a vast array of employee benefits and recognition systems, via our new partnership with Vivup.
  • Employment within one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in Northamptonshire, with wider development and career opportunities.

Isham CE Primary is a proud member of the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust and has been since 2014. We are a family of 33 schools across the Peterborough Diocese, and these strong links make special contribution to our children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and learning. PDET is responsible for employing all staff and managing finances and other central services for the academies within the Trust.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed, please contact the school, where we would be happy to arrange a visit for you!

The school is committed to the protection and safety of all its pupils and staff. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS clearance. Applications must be completed in full and CVs alone will not be accepted.
