About this Role

Holy Trinity Catholic School seeks to serve young people from both the Catholic and local community, welcoming all those who embrace its values and share in its quest for excellence. We are a good school, with a recent Section 48 inspection headline of Outstanding (March 2026); an achievement we are immensely proud of as a faith school which is fully inclusive and is committed to the diverse community we serve.

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Resources Assistant. A motivated and ambitious individual who will be committed to driving our high expectations for all pupils across the school and have the resilience to make a real difference to the lives of our young people, believing that all children can, and will, achieve. The successful candidate will be passionate about the power of reading and be able to inspire our young people to become ambitious, independent and confident readers. You will possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents, carers, pupils and external agencies; you will be organized and able to make efficient use of your time. You will be responsible for all elements of maintenance of our school library and the promotion of reading and literacy across all phases.

This exciting role would include:

Ensuring the school library is organised, well-stocked and well-maintained, providing a welcoming and safe space for all pupils

Managing the LMS (Library Management System) to catalogue and classify stock and for the circulation of books to pupils and staff

Working with Heads of Faculty and Teachers to support their efforts to develop reading and literacy across the curriculum

Leading reading sessions in the library, working closely with young people to encourage and develop excellent reading habits

Support KS3 Reading lessons fortnightly for all Year 7-9 classes in the LRC, working with their class teacher

Supervision of before & after school homework clubs

Lead & support with interventions to impact on holistic pastoral wellbeing of all pupils.

Collaboration with Language for Learning leader in running special events to coincide with key calendared events during the year e.g. National Poetry Day, World Book Day, Black History Month etc.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and therefore expects all staff to share the commitment. As part of our safer recruitment process, please be aware that all shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online search and social media check, in line with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. All successful candidates will be required to present their birth certificate along with evidence of any name changes.  Any incidents or issues identified from the searches will be explored with the applicant at interview. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.  A copy of our school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy can be found on the school’s website.
