About the role

Hob Moor Community Primary Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within our dedicated team. This is a combined Teaching Assistant role, consisting of 12 hours per week as a Teaching Assistant level 2 and 18 hours per week as a HLTA. 

As a Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the child’s day, you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step by step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines. You will use behaviour management in all areas around school.  You will also guide the children to help them to develop friendships and relationships with other adults in the school and their peers.

As an HLTA, you will work closely with and be supported by the school's teaching staff to cover PPA time. As part of this role you will be responsible for the teaching, learning and assessment of a specific group of pupils. 

The job requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, in a supportive capacity and has good verbal communication, strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team as these are all essential to this role.

You will have the ability to build a good rapport with parents and carers and the wider school community.

Ideally you will be an experienced Teaching Assistant with knowledge and understanding with regards to child development and the curriculum and how to enhance a child’s experiences and build upon their learning.
