About this Role

Hours: 3 days per week - 9.00 am - 3.30 pm, 39 weeks per year 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality teaching and support to our students, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment. We are looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant who:

       Puts pupils first.

       Be an excellent classroom practitioner who can lead by exemplary practice.

       Has high expectations of all pupils and secure exceptional outcomes for all.

       Be optimistic, energetic, resilient and creative.

       Be active in developing positive relationships with our pupils

Barnsole Primary School is a large 3-form entry school in Gillingham. Our school is spread across two sites and includes a nursery for 3-year olds. Barnsole Primary School is part of the Maritime Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of schools in Greenwich, Kent, Bexley & Medway.

Our recent successful Ofsted Inspection in February 2024 graded Barnsole as ‘Good’ which is a recognition of all the hard work and commitment shown by the children, staff and wider community. Ofsted commented, ‘The school is a calm and orderly environment. Staff have high expectations and pupils behave well. The school aims for pupils to be resilient and have a lifelong curiosity about the world. There are high expectations for all pupils to do well.’
