About this Role

Balmoral Learning Trust has a clear vision which it applies to everything it does. Our purpose is to create opportunity through collaboration, celebrating the prospects and potential in our community through our aim to achieve learning and excellence for all.

Hetton Lyons Primary School is a vibrant, inclusive school at the heart of a welcoming and supportive community. We take pride in being a place where children love to learn, staff love to work, and everyone is encouraged to thrive. Our school culture promotes a growth mindset, celebrates individual strengths, and empowers every child to meet their full potential.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (fixed term) to work 1 to 1 and provide tailored support to an individual pupil. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child access their learning, develop confidence, and achieve their personal targets. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to ensure the pupil receives consistent, personalised support in line with their needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience providing 1:1 support to children, helping them access learning and develop social and emotional skills.

  • Demonstrates a caring, patient, and empathetic approach with a commitment to improving outcomes for children.

  • Works collaboratively with teachers, other support staff, and families to provide consistent and effective support.

  • Can adapt to the individual needs of the pupil, promoting independence and self-confidence.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a difference to a child’s learning journey and being part of a supportive and inclusive school community.

In return, we offer:

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Family-friendly policies and working practices.
  • A welcoming, supportive staff team.
  • The benefits of being part of a collaborative Multi-Academy Trust.
