About this Role

Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 Weeks (Term Time plus 1 Week), permanent

We are seeking to appoint a full time (32.5 hours / 5 days per week) Teaching Assistant to support the Class Teachers at Riverside Primary School across the Key Stages from Foundation Stage to Year 6.  This may involve working with a class or supporting a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

·              Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards

·              Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress

·              Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher

·              Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team

Requirements:

·              NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)

·              Experience of working with children with Autism and/or Speech and Language difficulties would be advantageous

·              Understanding of children with different behavioural needs

·              Ability to work independently or as part of a team

·              Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best

·              Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children

·              Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable

·              Excellent communication skills
