Early Years Teaching Assistant

30 hours per week. 08:45 - 15:15

Term time only

Fixed term to start September 2024

Point 2 - £22,366 (FTE). This salary will be pro rated to reflect weeks worked per annum.

 Thomas Whitehead became an Academy on 1^st April 2017 as part of the Diocese of St Albans Multi Academy Trust. The Academy has an on-site nursery taking children from 3 years of age.

 We are seeking to appoint a Early Years Teaching  Assistant (NVQ level 2/3 qualification) who will work within our Early years as part of a supportive team to ensure the care of individual or groups of children, to support their learning and development and ensure their safety. Experience of working with children aged 3-5 years old and excellent communication skills are essential.

The role is varied and will involve:

• Assisting with the care of children in the Nursery and Reception classes.
• Encouraging and supporting children’s development
• Planning different activities (messy play, role play and story time etc)
• Encouraging exploration
• Supporting language development
• Maintaining a child friendly environment
• The ability to engage and build strong relationships with children
