Hampton Gardens School is seeking
a highly organised, proactive and confident Senior Administrator to play
a key role in supporting the smooth running of our school. This is a full‑time
position, working 37 hours per week, during school term time plus 5 additional
days.
This is an excellent opportunity
for someone with solid administrative experience, ideally within a school
setting, who is ready to take on more responsibility, including overseeing day‑to‑day
functions within the administration team and supporting whole‑school
operations.
As Senior Administrator, you will
work closely with the Administration Manager & PA to Head of School to lead
administrative processes, support staff, coordinate events and manage key
operational systems. You will be a highly visible and valued member of the
school community.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting the day‑to‑day work of
the administration team under the direction of the Administration Manager and
PA to Head of School.
- Providing high‑quality administrative support
across the school, including producing letters, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinating school events, meetings, parent
evenings, room bookings and whole‑school communication processes.
- Managing signing‑in procedures for staff,
visitors and contractors, and helping maintain visitor‑related safeguarding
records.
- Using Bromcom and WisePay to support staff,
students and parents, including setting up payments and assisting with system
queries.
- Supporting fire evacuation processes and
ensuring records, lists and systems remain accurate and up to date.
- Providing Reception cover as needed and
maintaining efficient administrative and filing systems.
- Offering first aid support and ensuring
incidents are recorded and followed up appropriately.
- Liaising positively with staff, parents,
external agencies and other stakeholders to support smooth day‑to‑day school
operations.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who
is:
- Experienced in working in a busy administrative
environment (minimum three years).
- Skilled in ICT, including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, email and internet use.
- Organised, accurate and able to prioritise a
busy workload.
- Confident in using their initiative and
supporting others.
- An excellent communicator with strong
interpersonal skills.
- Calm under pressure, discreet and professional
at all times.
- Able to work flexibly and learn new skills.
- First Aid trained or willing to undertake
training.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a school.
- Experience in a senior administrative role.
- Administrative/secretarial qualifications.
Working Hours & Salary
Grade 7 - £28,598 to £32,061 FTE
- Hours:
8.15am – 4.30pm (4.00pm Friday), with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break
- Total: 37 hours/week, term time plus 5 days
- Actual
salary (39 weeks): £24,488 – £27,453
