Are you an experienced, passionate Class Teacher who loves working in Early Years and believes that learning should be exciting, meaningful and full of wonder?

Whitehouse Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and reflective teacher to join our Early Years team from April 2026, helping to spark curiosity, nurture confidence and inspire a love of learning from the very start of a child’s school journey.

This post is initially a one-year maternity cover. While fixed-term, there may be opportunities for the role to continue beyond the initial contract, subject to school needs.

Our Vision and Values

At Whitehouse Primary School, we believe school should be a place where everyone feels welcome, valued and inspired to be their best. We work hard to create an irresistible invitation to learning, where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, make mistakes and celebrate success.

We want every child to grow into a confident, resilient, life-long learner who enjoys challenge, thinks independently and plays an active role in their community. Our children are encouraged to collaborate, take responsibility and develop the skills they need to make a positive difference in an ever-changing world.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Class Teacher who:

  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a genuine passion for Early Years
  • Brings learning to life through creative, purposeful and playful experiences
  • Creates a warm, calm and stimulating environment where children feel happy, safe and excited to learn
  • Believes in high expectations and truly understands that every child can succeed
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • Builds positive, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Is reflective, enthusiastic and keen to continue developing their practice

This role also has the potential to include elements of leadership within the Early Years team and provision, supporting the continued development of high-quality practice. This will be shaped by experience, interests and the needs of the school.

Why Join Whitehouse Primary and IFtL?

  • A friendly, welcoming staff team who genuinely support one another
  • Curious, enthusiastic children who love to learn and explore
  • A well-resourced Early Years setting with engaging indoor and outdoor spaces
  • Supportive leadership who value creativity, wellbeing and professional growth
  • The potential for future opportunities within the school, subject to circumstances

As part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning Trust, successful candidates have access to  enhanced family leave, Employee Assistance program, bespoke CPD and auto enrolment in LGPS/Teacher pension.  All IFtL employees have access to a benefits platform which offers discount on gym membership, cinema tickets, cycle to work scheme and much more.

Our children and young people come from a wide range of backgrounds, and so do our colleagues. We aim to reflect and celebrate diversity in our workplace in order to create an inclusive culture that adds real value to our vision of inspiring the futures of us all through learning together.
