As a Teacher of English you will inspire a love for language and literature through interactive and dynamic English lessons, catering to the diverse needs of students.  You will evaluate students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to enhance their language proficiency.  You will keep abreast of language teaching methodologies, education trends, and support your head of Department to incorporate innovative approaches into the curriculum.

In your role as Teacher of English you will focus on building students confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, ensuring a well-rounded language proficiency. At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain  challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.
