About this Role

Weston All Saints Primary School, known as WASPS, is a large primary school set within extensive grounds in the west of Bath.  The school operates a Hearing Impaired Resource Base (HIRB), which supports the effective delivery of individual programmes to pupils with hearing impairments to enable them to make outstanding progress within a mainstream school. 

The post holder will be joining an aspirational, highly motivated and supportive team who pride ourselves on the school ethos that children, their learning, welfare and happiness are at the forefront of all we do.  

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Be a qualified Teacher of the Deaf
  • Minimum level 1 BSL
  • Have a sound understanding of the impact of hearing impairment on learning and how to plan, differentiate and to account for this.
  • Have experience of teaching within the primary sector
  • Have experience of successfully working in close partnership with parents, staff and other agencies
  • Have a commitment to promoting and delivering effective, inclusive education for hearing impaired children
  • Have a commitment to collaborative working  
  • Be able to work independently using initiative
