Manor Community Primary School are seeking to an appoint an Assistant Headteacher to join the team. This is an integral role in the overall leadership and management of the school, supporting with sustaining and building a school culture that is nurturing and rigorous. The successful candidate will share responsibility for the management of the school, as well as leading, developing and supporting outstanding quality first inclusive teaching and learning practice to ensure all pupils make the required progress and realise their potential.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic middle leader who is seeking to gain an insight and experience of a primary leadership role. The successful candidate will support the Headteachers in leading an aspect of the operational and ongoing strategic development of the school.

You will have the support and guidance of experienced colleagues as you step into this role and will not only contribute to the academic success of our students, but also begin a journey of personal development. This role offers the chance the grow professionally and make a real impact on the lives of our pupils.

Further details about the role

· Ensure that teachers are clear about teaching objectives, understand the sequence of teaching and learning within their curriculum areas and communicate this to students.

· Plan and monitor the teaching and learning across the school with a focus on Pupil Premium children.

· Support and provide guidance for colleagues to select the most appropriate teaching and learning methods and resources to meet the needs of the full range of students.

· To help to implement PIXL and Arbor practices for assessing, recording and reporting on student achievements in line with academy policy.

· Evaluate the teaching within all areas in the school; use this analysis to identify effective practice and areas for improvement.

· Take appropriate action to improve further the quality of teaching within any area when curriculum required.

Strategic direction and development

· To continue to develop, promote and ensure implementation of the School Improvement Plan across the school.

· As Assistant Headteacher produce short, medium and long-term plans to develop the school in relation to:

· behaviour and attitudes/pupil premium

· targets, CPD and support for realistic but challenging improvements.

Leading and managing staff and self

· Lead all staff in conjunction with the Headteachers.

· Promote and maintain a culture of high expectations for staff and others.

· Support and challenge colleagues throughout the school, recognising their achievements and holding them to account where necessary.

· Regularly review own practice, set personal targets and take responsibility for own development, seeking advice and support from others.
