About this Role

Fixed Term until August 2026 (Linked to EHCP funding and current SEND need in Y5/6 class) with possibility to become permanent. 

Part-Time 18 hours per week, Term Time Only + Training Days (39 weeks per year).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school team. You will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across the curriculum, promote positive behaviour, and help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

The role includes a mix of responsibilities as detailed below.

Monday & Tuesday

  • 8:30am – 12:30pm: General Class Teaching Assistant (mixed Y5/6 class)
  • 12:30pm – 1:00pm: Unpaid lunch break
  • 1:00pm – 3:30pm: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Wednesday

  • 8:30am – 12:30pm: General Class Teaching Assistant (mixed Y5/6 class)
  • 12:30pm – 1:30pm: Midday Supervisor

About You

To be a good fit for this role, you will be:

  • Capable of working with individual pupils and small groups, under the direction of the class teacher to provide for each individual child’s stage of development and interests, regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history
  • Able to support the class teacher in managing the classroom and its resources
  • Able to provide 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
