Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary academy in the south of the city, serving 11–16-year-old students. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational historian, who is passionate and enthusiastic, with excellent subject knowledge across Key stage 3 and 4, to join our thriving and successful History Faculty and help instill in our students a lifelong love of learning history. We welcome applications from colleagues (with QTS) at all stages of their career, including ECTs, who are committed to raising achievement in History.

Our faculty vision is ‘shaping the future by reflecting on the past and understanding the now’, and as an integral member of the History Faculty, the successful candidate will work to further cement and promote the Fundamental British Values and achiever values of ambition, courage, honesty, inspiration and respect that underpin our history learning journey. As part of our academy, the successful candidate will work as part of a committed team to celebrate the culture and diversity so prevalent in our historical past and in our academy community. Above all, the successful candidate will work together, alongside the Director and other teaching staff, to instill a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.
