About this Role

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor at UCS Bolton, you will be a key player in maintaining continuity and stability in pupils’ education during staff absences. Your role will be to supervise whole classes, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused, and supported in their learning activities. You will also provide targeted assistance to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum fully and confidently.

You will work closely with teaching staff to implement lesson plans, manage behaviour positively, and create a safe, orderly learning environment. Beyond classroom cover, you will support small groups or individual pupils, contribute to the development of personalised learning plans, and assist with exam invigilation and other school activities.

This role offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference every day, helping pupils feel supported and motivated while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic school setting.

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, responsible, and professional—someone who shares our values and commitment to inclusion and high expectations. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or care setting
  • Be confident in managing whole-class behaviour and supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills, with the willingness to develop specialist knowledge
  • Be adaptable, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Have a keen interest in supporting pupils’ personal development and well-being
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice

If you are motivated by the opportunity to support young learners and contribute positively to their school experience, you will thrive in this role.

What We Offer

  • A supportive, inclusive workplace committed to your professional growth through continuous CPD
  • Wellness day – an additional day of leave to support your well-being
  • Access to a pension scheme and cycle-to-work scheme
  • Discounted childcare at Play Pals Childcare Limited, part of our Trust family
  • Opportunities to be part of a Trust that values strong governance, accountability, and community partnerships
  • The chance to work within a Trust that prioritises high-quality education with strong values
