We are ideally looking for a candidate who can commit to working 0.6 FTE starting from September 2024, however, we would be more than happy to be flexible on start date and working hours/days for the perfect candidate.
The Oaks Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic musician to teach music and promote performing arts in the school, giving every pupil opportunities to excel and enhance the reputation of The Oaks Primary School as a centre of musical excellence.
The successful applicant will teach music across the school as part of PPA arrangements. The applicant must be an excellent classroom practitioner, highly motivated and committed to improvement and the achievement of high standards. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and be willing to realise the school’s vision for excellence in music.
The successful applicant will:
Be an outstanding music teacher that can motivate and inspire pupils.
Be able to create and realise a vision for the school to establish excellence in music and performing arts.
Work closely with the local community, ensuring The Oaks becomes a centre of musical excellence.
Identify children that show an aptitude for music and liaise with the children and parents to ensure they have the opportunity to develop their talents through extra-curricular activities.
Be able to direct musical productions such as Christmas productions, carol services and year six leavers events.
Be able to lead instrumental and vocal ensembles.
Be a proficient accompanist (desirable).
