Contract: 10 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (working hours 11:40 – 1:40 daily)


Fixed Term until 31 December 2024 as a maternity cover.


St James CE Primary School is a relationship-led, two form entry primary school in the heart of Northampton. Part of the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (PDET), we have a strong Christian ethos and a county-wide commitment to children with SEMH needs through our Local Authority funded specialist provision.


We are looking for a lunchtime supervisor to work term time, Monday – Friday, within a team to make the lunchtime experience for our children positive, happy and healthy.


We are looking for:

·        Someone who will strive to make the lunchtime experience for our children as positive as possible by building good relationships and responding to playground issues fairly;

·        Someone who understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy;

·        An individual who has high expectations of healthy eating and table manners and supports the children to develop good eating habits;

·        A person who understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct;

·        Someone who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.

·        An energetic individual who smiles often, engages with the children and models the values and ethos of St James at all times.
