We are seeking to appoint Casual Exam Invigilators to work on a casual basis ensuring students have an equal, safe and secure environment in which to sit their public and internal examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) instructions for conducting examinations. Please see the Recruitment Pack for full details on the job description and person specification.
We want our students at Ridgewood to have an equal, safe and secure environment in which to sit their public and internal examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) instructions for conducting examinations. This is to enable them to perform to the best of their ability, within these examinations, as we believe these are the building blocks for their future aspirations.
Under the instruction/guidance of the Exams Officer, the role involves preparation of resources within the examination room prior to the exam commencing, supporting/observing students before, during and after an examination paper has been set, following set procedures at the end of each exam to meet JCQ regulations. Full training for the role will be given to successful applicants.
We have an Exams Officer, Exams
Assistant, 14 Casual Exam Invigilators and two Casual Lead Exam Invigilators
within our Exams Team. Our public exams are held mostly within the main Sport
Hall and across a selection of smaller, light and spacious rooms, to
accommodate the examination needs for students with JCQ approved Access
Arrangements in place.
The main public exam period is from early May to mid-June so availability over this timespan is key for this role. Internal assessments occur at other times throughout the year. You will be required to complete training sessions prior to the exam season starting.
Stour Vale Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will carry out pre-appointment checks including DBS and will disqualify any applicant where we consider the outcomes to be unsatisfactory. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
We are equally
committed to ensuring that no applicant will be disadvantaged or discriminated
against because of their protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
