Welcome to Ridgewood High School

Our motto at Ridgewood is Achieving Excellence Together and all members of our school community live this through their daily experiences at school. We want our students to dream big and aspire to be the very best version of themselves, but we recognise that excellence can come in many different forms and is a unique concept to everyone. This individual need is catered for at Ridgewood through great teaching, a wide range of extra-curricular activities, and a caring and supportive pastoral team. 

Our students are great to be with and are  determined learners who strive for academic excellence. This is facilitated by a talented and sparkly team of teachers, that is why very few teachers leave our school! Opportunities for team building and student leadership are regular, and visitors to Ridgewood always tell us our students are special... of course, we already know that! 

Our school has gone from strength to strength in recent years. In 2023, Ofsted recognised our journey when they awarded us ‘Good’ in all categories. This is supported by a continual trend of improving student outcomes over time, but we also know that our journey is not yet complete. Our school is improving every day. Our expectations are very high and we are relentless in our pursuit of achieving them. We often speak to our students about the contribution that they will make our school, to our community and to the wider world. We call this #TheRidgewoodLegacy and are excited to invite you to be part of this. 

Ridgewood High School is situated on the outskirts of Stourbridge surrounded by greenbelt.  Our ‘small school with a big heart’ is certainly an exciting and rewarding place to be as we work towards an ambitious vision for the future. Our staff are well trained, show excellent teamwork and care deeply for students. Our students are fun, welcoming, respectful and are increasingly confident in their pursuit of academic rigour. They show excellent leadership skills.  We are very proud of our school and welcome prospective candidates to visit us.
