About this Role

THE ROLE

As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support.  You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day.  This includes:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons

  • Supporting children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play

  • Helping those who need extra support

  • Completing pupils record plans

THE CANDIDATE

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

  • Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEND needs

  • Ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships

SALARY/ HOURS Starting salary for a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £18,596 actual annual salary (FTE £24,000) working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust

Greenacre School is one of the UK’s largest special schools, educating over 300 children and young people aged 3 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities.
