Our opportunity for you

We are looking for a versatile and outgoing individual to join the team as a Weekend Duty Manager/ Caretaker, working on a permanent basis, to support our community hire and lettings activities. The hours will be 16 per weekend across Saturday and Sunday with shifts between the hours of 7am to 10pm dependent on bookings. Occasional weekday evenings may also be offered.

The type of person we are looking for is likely to possess infectious enthusiasm, a reliable and highly organised individual, who can multi-task, with a professional and friendly disposition.  He or she will be resilient, driven, determined, and ambitious.

·       Willingness to work unsociable hours to support the Academy facilities lettings business

·       Flexibility to support the team, this will include shift work and weekend working

·       Able to demonstrate effective communication skills.

 

Job description

Duties for this job will include (but are not limited to):

 

·       Meet and greet customers and facilitate the smooth running of external hires.

·       Clearing and setting up of rooms.

·       Setting up party equipment including large bouncy castles.

·       Closing and securing the Academy including activation and deactivation of alarms

·       Assisting with ensuring the security of the site.

·       Be the initial point of contact for enquiries in person and via email.

·       Maintain a tidy and orderly work area across the site including the pool area

·       Be responsible for all bookings during your working shift, ensuring the Academy is set correctly and kept tidy.

·       Supervising and supporting other team members on shift when required.

·       Working in the bar/coffee shop when required

·       Carry out responsibilities with due regard to the Academy’s policy, organisation and arrangements for Health & Safety at work.

 

Any other appropriate duties and responsibilities relevant to the post as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, Deputy CEO or LFE Manager.

Landau Forte Academy QEMS & Tamworth Sixth Form

 

Landau Forte Academy QEMS joined the Landau Forte Charitable Trust in September 2011 and delivers education to 11-16 year olds. Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form is a purpose-built establishment providing Level 3 courses, both Advanced Level and BTEC, for the whole of Tamworth and beyond. The academies are located on a shared campus, but both operate from their own facilities, with Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form having new bespoke, accommodation, which opened in September 2011, with a new Sports Hall that opened in 2013.

We are a rapidly improving 11-16 academy under new leadership, with a Progress 8 score which improved dramatically from 2015. It is a vibrant place to work with committed staff and a student body who’s behaviour Ofsted described as ‘polite, courteous and respectful’. Our aim is to continue this arc of improvement. Opportunities for professional development are enhanced by our partnership with the Landau Forte Teaching School Alliance.

Tamworth is a historic town surrounded by beautiful countryside, located a short distance from Birmingham. The Academy is located close to the centre of Tamworth, with superb transport links. Tamworth boasts a range of historical sites and leisure attractions, including: Tamworth Castle; the Tamworth SnowDome and Drayton Manor Amusement Park. Within a 20 minute drive from the town, you can find yourself in the beautiful, open Staffordshire countryside or Birmingham‘s bustling city centre.
