STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER

We are looking to recruit a flexible and diligent Student Support Officer to join our strong Student Services Team supporting students in the Secondary Phase of the College. The Student Services Team plays an active role in the College and support our Deputy Heads of School and Heads of House in dealing with student well-being and behaviour.  Every member of the team helps to make a difference, helping students to enjoy their time at school and contributing to raising standards of achievement for all.

The Student Support Officer role is very rewarding, it is also extremely busy and varied, therefore the ability to spin several plates at once is essential.  The successful candidate will need to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues.

You will undertake the essential role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage the EHA process, actively leading on child protection concerns / issues, working closely with external agencies and representing the school in a range of meetings with parents/carers, social workers and external agencies. Both excellent communication and organisational skills are vital to be successful in this role.

You will also take a lead role on managing student attendance and contribute to raising standards of achievement for all students. We are looking for an individual with robust administrative / IT skills who has a can-do attitude and possesses the ability to manage a very busy and often competing workload.

We are looking for a strong team player who will relish the opportunity to work with a range of students in a fast-paced school environment and who is passionate about providing tailored and dedicated support.  Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

This is a permanent position working term time plus 5 training days.

The college uses support staff to carry out Midday Supervision and this has been particularly successful in managing student behaviour and helps to build positive relationships with students. We will also require applicants to work as a Midday Supervisor; a separate contract will be issued for each post.

Working Hours:

8:15am to 4:00pm (with a 45-minute un-paid lunch break)
