About this Role

The Governors and Headteacher are looking to appoint an inspirational Deputy Headteacher from April 2025 who will work in partnership with the Head in leading and inspiring a dedicated team of practitioners.

Freeland CE Primary School is a successful, nurturing village school with 132 children in 6 classes, aged 2-11.We are part of Eynsham Partnership Academy. EPA is a growing Trust of a large 11-19 outstanding secondary school, an all-through 3-18 school, and eight primary schools, which host five nurseries.

We have high expectations of ourselves as professionals, as well as the children we teach. We are looking for an experienced teacher, who is ready to take on the next challenge of leadership or to continue their leadership journey. They will play a key role in continuing the development of our school which was rated ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED in May 2022 and received a very positive SIAMS report in September 2024.

This role is a teaching role, with allocated time out of class to fulfil leadership duties.

The candidate we appoint will:

• Lead the development of teaching and learning across the school

• Be a highly effective practitioner, with an excellent understanding of how children learn.

• Be caring, passionate about education and prepared to lead by example.

• Be able to relate positively to the Headteacher, the pupils, colleagues, parents, governors, and others who contribute to the work of the school.

• Have excellent communication skills.

• Have the ability to organise and manage work effectively, i.e., being able to prioritise and organise tasks, make decisions, support, and delegate when appropriate.

• To have high expectations of pupils’ learning, attainment, and behaviour and of one’s own professional abilities and those of colleagues.

Be warm and approachable, ensuring the wellbeing of staff and

pupils is a priority.

• Be committed to their own professional development and have a mindset of continuous improvement.

• Have successfully led whole school improvements and can demonstrate the impact of their leadership. What we can offer the successful candidate:
