About this Role

About This Role

As a Cover Teacher you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the school, providing cover for absent teachers on a day-to-day or longer-term basis. The role of Cover Teacher is essential in the smooth running of our school, and requires excellent communication skills, adaptability, and confidence in managing a classroom. Your main responsibilities will include supervising classes using pre-prepared work, ensuring that learners remain on task, and managing behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone considering a career in teaching in the future and looking to gain valuable classroom experience. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to achieve this through our Trust SCITT.

What Can We Offer You?

·         Term-time hours that fit perfectly with the school calendar- no surprises, just predictability.

·         A warm, collaborative team of teachers and support staff ready to share best practice.

·         An open, positive workplace culture where your insights are valued and celebrated.

·         Comprehensive CPD tailored to your role- SEND strategies, behaviour management, precision teaching and more.

·         Access to an Employee Assistance Programme, ensuring you’re supported both inside and outside the classroom.

What Can You Offer Us?

·         A degree is desirable but not essential. Having the right motivation and enthusiasm for working with young people is key.

·         A genuine interest in education, particularly if you’re looking to progress into teacher training.

·         Energy, patience and a good sense of humour.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         The ability to adapt quickly and confidently manage a classroom environment.

·         Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to keep learners engaged and on task.

·         Previous experience working in a school or similar setting is desirable but not essential.

If you’re ready to bring your energy, adaptability and enthusiasm to our vibrant school community, we would love to hear from you!
