About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to teach a wonderful class of enthusiastic and well-behaved children within our supportive and welcoming school community. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced colleagues and will play a key role in continuing to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences for our pupils.
Whilst the role is due to commence in October 2026, there may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to begin working with us earlier to support transition arrangements and ensure a smooth handover.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Has a secure knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Creates engaging and inclusive learning experiences that inspire children to achieve their best.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Is reflective, enthusiastic and committed to continual professional development.
  • Will contribute positively to the wider life of our school community.
In return, we can offer:
  • Happy, enthusiastic children who enjoy learning and are proud of their school.
  • A friendly, supportive and dedicated staff team.
  • A strong culture of collaboration and professional development.
  • A school that places children, wellbeing and inclusion at the heart of everything we do.
  • Opportunities to contribute to wider school improvement and enrichment opportunities.
Whirley Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and satisfactory references will be sought prior to appointment.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
