About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and talented Computing teacher to join our well-established and innovative computing team.  You will have a passion for teaching Computer Science and IT and the skills to inspire our pupils to succeed.

 Our goal as a Faculty is to work to engender in our students an appreciation of the intrinsic value of Computing (in the form of both Computer Science and IT), and we want all students to achieve computing confidence through a deep understanding of the subject.

Applications are invited from reflective, motivated and inspiring practitioners who can teach across all abilities at Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be passionate about promoting the teaching and learning of computing and have the capacity to deliver great teaching, ensuring that students achieve their full potential.

 If you are committed to inspiring your students to learn how computing helps them to understand the world, feel the satisfaction of solving a challenging problem, and value the transferable computing skills developed though purposeful practice, then we encourage you to apply.

 The successful candidate will be:

 ·         An enthusiastic Computer Scientist, able to ignite interest in computing from students and colleagues;

·         Committed to ensuring that all students reach their potential regardless of prior attainment;

·         Capable of promoting partnerships and collaborative working in our school, across the Abingdon Learning Trust and in the wider computing teaching community.

·         A role model for our students and staff;

·         Effective in setting and attaining high standards of student progress;

·         Active in working to develop their own teaching practice.

In return, we will offer you:

 ·         The support and satisfaction of being part of a small and highly motivated computer team, under the wider Science and Computing faculty.

·         A commitment to the support and professional development of our team members

·         Excellent care and support for all staff.

·         The opportunity to work in a rapidly improving school with the chance to make a significant difference to the future of our young people.
