About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly motivated and forward-thinking team at Dunbury Academy. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can inspire and motivate our learners with high expectations and a drive to enable pupils to be the best that they can be.  This is a part time position, working 16.5 hours per week (9am-3pm), specific days to be discussed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working across a discrete range of pupil need (e.g. supporting learning in the classroom, providing sensory and/or emotional regulating breaks) and for the most part, this will be delivered on a 1-1 basis within the classroom. You will work with teachers /SENCO to promote individual pupils’ academic, social and emotional development through the provision of a stable, caring and supportive learning environment; to enable the pupil(s) to achieve their full learning potential and facilitate their personal, academic, social and moral development.

There may be a special needs element where you will work with pupils with disability, learning difficulties or behavioural problems. We pride ourselves on having high standards of conduct and behaviour at all times and are seeking a professional to join us in promoting this in our learning community.

Dunbury is a small rural school with a big heart, where we practise and live our values of trust, friendship, respect and courage every day, as recognised in our recent ‘Good’ OfSTED. We have happy and enthusiastic children and staff who are supportive of each other. We are passionate about using research driven teaching approaches to ensure we focus on the things that matter. Our school vision of ‘Strength in difference, together we are one and together we fly high’ is key to our warm and supportive environment and drives us in everything we do.

We can offer you:

· Support in a school that is forward thinking and innovative

· Children who are motivated, enthusiastic and articulate in their learning

· A strong commitment to a drive for excellence

· An ethos focused on raising standards for all

· The opportunity to work in a team where enthusiasm, hard work and initiative are appreciated, but above all, one where the shared agenda of improvement is central

· A supportive SLT that has a strong ambition and vision for the school's future

If you are interested in this position and would like to have a more detailed conversation before making the decision to apply for the post, please give us a call and we will be happy to help you with as much detail as possible to support this process. You are very welcome to arrange a visit to the school prior to your application.

When you have enough information to make your decision to apply, please complete all sections of the application form. CVs will not be accepted.

All applicants will be notified of the shortlisting decisions by email. References for shortlisted candidates will be requested before interviews.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be subject to a number of checks including the Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
